“Natural wonder of the Grand Valley. The monument consists of impressive geologic features including towering red sandstone monoliths; deep, sheer walled canyons; and a variety of wildlife – bighorn sheep, golden eagles, mule deer and mountain lions. . .” Established in 1911, the National Monument offers more than 20,000 acres; a dramatic twenty-three mile Rim-Drive; and self-guided hiking or backcountry trails.
